Sagye Singapore Unveils New Dishes In New Wheelock Outlet

2 Mins read

Sagye Singapore, the popular Korean restaurant known for its authentic sotbap (Korean pot rice), is proud to announce the opening of its new outlet at Wheelock Place in Orchard. Building on the success of its Tanjong Pagar outlet, Sagye’s new outlet offers a fresh and immersive dining experience, combining traditional Korean flavours with modern elements that reflect the changing seasons.

An Immersive Dining Experience with a Seasonal Touch

The interior design of the new Wheelock Place outlet takes inspiration from Korea’s rich architectural heritage. You will be greeted by a large LCD ceiling display, showcasing vivid seasonal visuals that are reflective of the restaurant’s name, Sagye (사계), which means ‘four seasons’ in Korean. The design also features traditional hanok-inspired décor, with elements such as bamboo curtains, lamps, Hangari pots, and a cosy fireplace, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that evokes the charm of a traditional Korean tavern, or joomak.

New Menu Offerings

To celebrate their new outlet, Sagye will offer a selection of new sotbap dishes available during both lunch and dinner:

A highlight on the menu is the Braised King-Sized Beef Short Rib – a Wheelock-exclusive dish and a true culinary showpiece crafted from premium prime beef. The ribs are slow-braised for over four hours and steam-baked to perfection, resulting in irresistibly tender and juicy meat. Marinated overnight in a secret house-made BBQ sauce with a hint of spice, this dish offers a rich, flavourful experience with a perfect balance of depth and heat.

Another exclusive offering is the Netflix-Inspired Culinary Class Wars Dongpo Rou, which as its name implies, is inspired by the famous Culinary Class Wars series on Netflix. Sagye’s interpretation of this iconic Chinese fusion dish features a velvety-rich texture of braised pork paired with a house-made sauce that perfectly balances sweet and savoury flavours, creating a comforting yet indulgent experience in every bite.

The new Japan Wagyu Striploin is another highlight, featuring F1 Wagyu Beef that offers the best of both worlds, combining a melt-in-the-mouth combination of Japanese wagyu’s creamy umami taste and the robust flavour of Black Angus beef. Lastly, it is served with aromatic herb butter, adding a rich and aromatic flavour profile to the dish.

Sagye also offers a vegetarian sotbap option, providing a plant-based alternative for those seeking a lighter, yet equally satisfying meal.

Honourable Mentions

For Korean BBQ enthusiasts, Sagye’s dinner menu features expertly charcoal-grilled premium cuts, including USDA Prime beef and Japan F1 Wagyu beef, available at both outlets. You can savour the smoky, robust flavours of these tender meats, perfectly grilled by skilled chefs. The F1 Wagyu Ribeye Cap, often regarded as the tastiest cut of beef, stands out for its exceptional juiciness, tenderness, and intricate marbling, delivering a melt-in-the-mouth experience. This luxurious selection highlights Sagye’s commitment to serving the finest meats, ensuring an unforgettable dining experience for even the most discerning palates.

Make A Date: A New Era of Korean Dining in Orchard

Sagye aims to bring the best of traditional Korean flavours while embracing the evolution of seasonal ingredients to its new location at Wheelock Place. Whether you’re craving a hearty pot rice dish or a sizzling Korean BBQ experience, Sagye promises an unforgettable dining experience that caters to every palate.
