In honour of International Women’s Day (8 March) and to support fund-raising efforts for women’s empowerment, The Fullerton Hotels Singapore are presenting the specially curated Purple Afternoon Tea. As the official colour of International Women’s Day, purple is a symbol of justice and dignity, associated with efforts to achieve gender equality.
‘Since 2015, The Fullerton Hotels Singapore have been celebrating International Women’s Day annually with our iconic Purple Afternoon Tea to raise funds for women’s causes. As Singapore commemorates the “Year of Celebrating SG Women” in 2021, it is all the more meaningful for us to contribute towards the movement to empower, protect and uplift women,’ says Cavaliere Giovanni Viterale, General Manager of The Fullerton Hotels and Resorts.
Purple Afternoon Tea – Advancing Gender Equality & Women’s Empowerment
Available from 1 to 31 March 2021, SGD$5 from the proceeds of each purple-hued Afternoon Tea set will be donated to United Women Singapore, a not-for-profit organisation aiming at advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment by promoting STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) for girls and advocating issues facing women. The Purple Afternoon Tea will be served at The Courtyard, located at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, and The Landing Point, located at The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore.
To mark the occasion, Executive Pastry Chef Siddharth Prabhu has created a special Cake-of-the- Month for takeaway or delivery at The Fullerton Cake Boutique — Lavender Jivara Chocolate Opera (S$69*, 900gm), a dreamy layered creation imbued with fragrant floral and almond notes. Using a cold infusion technique that spans four days, delicate lavender fragrance is extracted from lavender flowers and infused to create a light chocolate ganache and lavender crème, which are then layered between almond Joconde sponge.
