But if it doesn’t bother you and you are sick of going after Pokemon and losing battles all day, we have the tips and cheats for you. It does not involve jailbreaking or doing anything illegal, they are just some simple tweaks to catch an insane amount of (unique) Pokemon, level up fast, hitch eggs without walking and enjoy unlimited Incense and Lucky Eggs. We urge you to quickly use them now before Pokemon Go decides to fix these ‘glitches’. The tips and cheats below are accurate as of the time of writing. 1. Ditch The Usual & Start With Pikachu

When you start the game, the Professor will ask you to catch your first Pokemon which traditionally would be your Squirtle, Charmander or Bulbasaur. Ignore them, walk away (in real life) until your phone vibrates. You will be prompted again to catch one of them. Walk away, get the next prompt and repeat this process five times (or even more) till Pikachu appear and you’ll be able to catch it as your starter.

2. Hatch Pokemon Eggs Without Walking

Pokémon Go doesn’t lend itself to being played while you lay on your couch, becoming a massive Pokéslob – you actually have to get up and wander around in order to catch Pokémon, hatch eggs, and gather supplies.

Of course, the internet has found several ways around this issue, using a number of ingenious methods. With that in mind, we’ve rounded up some of the best ways for the lazy among you to overcome the requirement to actually move.

3. Evee Evolution Trick

You can always choose to evolve Eevee without any meddling. Just feed it 25 Eevee candy and see it turn to one of the above three types at random. However, we do have a trick that allow you to target Flareon, Jolteon or Vaporeon, by renaming it in one of the following ways:

– Rename as Rainer to evolve into water-type Vaporeon

– Rename as Sparky to evolve into lightning-type Jolteon

– Rename as Pyro to evolve into fire-type Flareon

But why Sparky, Rainer and Pyro? These are the names of the Eevee brothers from the Pokémon television show, who meet with Ash and the gang in episode 40 to show off their respective Eevee evolutions.

4. Throw PokeBalls With Style

The way that you throw your PokeBalls is important. It ensures the best likelihood of a successful capture and earning the most XP possible! When catching a Pokémon, hold down on the PokeBall, and a circle will begin to envelop the Pokémon in front of you. The color of the circle indicates how difficult of a capture it is, with green meaning easy, orange meaning medium, and red meaning hard.

The circle will be continuously shrinking. If you can hit the centre of the circle when it’s as tiny as possible, it decreases the likelihood of the Pokémon being able to escape and give you extra points. But of course, the tinier the hole is, the more difficult it will be to make the throw. Also, don’t be afraid to throw the ball in different styles. If you are able to throw a curveball by spinning the ball, you’ll get more XP.

5. Level Up Like Crazy

Want to play it smart instead of hard? Here’s how:

Step 1: Collect as many low-level Pokémon as possible. Capturing each of those Pokémon results in more Candy being added to your inventory against each type.

Step 2: Get a Lucky Egg. These eggs double your received XP for 30 minutes.

Step 3: Activate the Lucky Egg, go mad and evolve as many of those low level Pokémon as possible.

And there you have it. Each evolved Pokémon is worth 500 XP. With the activated Lucky Egg, that doubles to 1000 XP for thirty-minutes. Each evolve process from start to finish should take roughly 30 seconds, meaning that you should be able to evolve 60 Pokémon in 30 minutes if you have enough to evolve. That should equate to approximately 60,000 XP in one 30 minute period.

6. Play To Your Type

In case you haven’t notice, every Pokémon has a type such as fire-type, water-type etc. Each type has its own natural strength, a natural weakness, and in some unique situations, some types are completely immune to certain types’ attack and defence. To win your battles, you better know your enemies before you attack. Look for their Pokemon types and make sure you have Pokémon in your starting six that will do as much damage as possible to that type. When leaving multiple Pokémon as a team, make sure your team isn’t leaving a lot of the same type to guard the gym. Here’s a quick list of the elements and their natural opponents.

  • Normal: Fighting
  • Fire: Water, Ground, Rock
  • Water: Electric, Grass
  • Electric: Ground
  • Grass: Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, Bug
  • Ice: Fire, Fighting, Rock, Steel
  • Fighting: Flying, Psychic, Fairy
  • Poison: Ground, Psychic
  • Ground: Water, Grass, Ice
  • Flying: Electric, Ice, Rock
  • Psychic: Bug, Ghost
  • Bug: Fire, Flying, Rock
  • Rock: Water, Grass, Fighting, Ground, Steel
  • Ghost: Ghost
  • Dragon: Ice, Dragon, Fairy
  • Steel: Fire, Fighting, Ground
  • Fairy: Poison, Steel

7. Hectic Catching Of Pokemon

If you are sick and tired of walking around for Pokemon, try this:

Step 1: Gather a few friends to hunt together

Step 2: Find a spot with 2 or more Pokestops next to each other

Step 3: Active Lure, turn on Incense and pray that you have enough Pokeballs.

8. Unlimited Incense & Lucky Eggs

Step 1: Activate either your Incense or Lucky Eggs

Step 2: Leave the Pokémon Go app and launch the Settings app on your Android or iOS device. Head on over to the date & time settings.

Step 3: Both iOS and Android provide an option to set the data and time automatically. Make sure that this is toggled off.

Step 4: With the automatic setting of time and date is disabled, set the time on the device back but not by more than 30 minutes. This will increase the amount of time left that the Incense or Lucky Egg has to run.

Step 5: Head back into the Pokémon Go app and you will see that the time left on the Lucky Egg or Incense is now increased by the number of minutes you rolled back the device’s time in Step 4.

9. Notifications On The Go With Pokemon Go Plus

Available on the Nintendo Official Store, Pokémon Go Plus is the only way to get notifications without having the app open all the time. So unless you so decides to constantly stare at the Pokémon Go all the time as you walk around, you’re going to miss out.

The £34.99 Pokémon Go Plus works like a Pokémon-themed fitness tracker or bracelet specifically for Pokémon Go. However, at the time of writing, it’s still currently sold out…AND it’s been delayed until September.
