Pokemon Go Marks 1st Year With Ash Hat Pikachu & Anniversary Boxes

Before we know it, we have already been hooked on Pokemon Go for a year since its worldwide launch! The folks at Niantic recently reported that the game has achieved over $1.2 billion worth of revenue and commanded over 752 million downloads! To mark the game’s 1st-year-anniversary, Pokemon Go is releasing a special version of Pikachu and special limited-time anniversary boxes from now to 24 July 2017!

Catch Your Ash Hat Pikachu Pokemon

We are sure you realise that this is not the first special Pikachu that Pokemon Go has offered. Just last year’s December, you could catch the electric mouse with a Santa hat. In fact, it could even evolve into a Santa-hatted Raichu. This latest limited-time Pikachu will be wearing Ash Ketchum’s hat from the Pokemon anime series.

Evolution Included?

However, this time round, we are not sure if you will be able to evolve your Ash Hat Pikachu into a Raichu wearing the same famous cap. So you may want to reserve some Ash Hat Pikachu for safe keeps.

Correction: We have seen some trainers with the new Ash Hat Raichu so go ahead and evolve!

Special Limited-time Anniversary Boxes

In addition to the special Pikachu, the in-game store will offer a new item, the Anniversary Box. These unique boxes contain Incubators, Max Revives, Ultra Balls, and a Raid Pass, and it’s available at a discounted price “for a limited time only!
