Everyone wants to get away from it all and indulge in some ‘me’ time every now and then. Unfortunately, with our hectic lifestyle and work commitments, even a short weekend getaway can be tough. Thankfully, there is always the option of a pampering staycation where you can choose to stay in parts of Singapore which we always wanted to explore but never quite have the time. For our recent staycation, we decided to go for the newly launched Park Hotel Farrer Park Singapore (just opened in July 2017) for its heritage neighbourhood as well as unique duplex loft interiors. Visitors to Singapore will find the hotel a great base to explore the rest of Singapore too! Join us as we bring you through the experience!
1. Park Hotel Farrer Park – Unbelievablely Convenient
With impressive design credentials and a prime location in the heart of Farrer Park, Park Hotel Farrer Park, the upscale hotel developed by RB Capital Group offers seamless access to any parts of Singapore through the local train network. Not known to many, you can actually get to the hotel lobby through The Coffee Belt entrance literally just steps away from Farrer Park’s MRT exit!
The cafe is located in the hotel lobby which offers guests and those working in the area speciality coffee from a local roaster, Tiong Hoe, alongside artisanal teas. If you are in a rush to make the best of your day in Singapore, grab a cup of their coffee with local inspired offerings such as pandan waffles, brick toast or just western muffins before you head off to the trains.
2. Friendly & Fast Check-In
Designed by award-winning RSP Architects and interior design agency FBEYE International, the hotel has been tastefully created with natural woods, earthy shades and opulent marble. Stepping into the lobby, you will be greeted with a large open-plan reception area with high ceilings and sleek furniture. This lustrous look is prevalent throughout the hotel areas and guest rooms. We appreciate the friendly, helpful staff and of course the efficient and fast check in to start our staycation!

The 24-hour shopping mall Mustafa Centre offers everything from electronics to groceries, or take your pick from open-air Tekka Centre, goldsmith shops and sari stores. With its close proximity to the city and a bohemian vibe, many artists also call Little India home.

The 20-storey hotel boasts 300 elegantly furnished guestrooms. Guestrooms comprise of Superior, Deluxe and Crystal Club categories, as well as the unique duplex Sky Lofts and Premier Lofts, which offer the perfect city base for families, couples and extended business travel. We were particularly attracted by Park Hotel Farrer Park’s stunning duplex loft layouts, which are the first of their kind in the district! We were in awe with the floor-to-ceiling windows which offer stunning views of the city skyline.
The stairs to our bed were quite an impressive sight. We love the layout, you get to entertain guest if any at the lower deck which keeping the bedroom exclusive. The hotel has thoughtfully installed TV on both decks so you can enjoy the luxury of watching your favourite programmes in bed too!
You are wrong if you think the space on the upper deck is small and cramped. On the contrary, we rather enjoy the cosiness it provides and also how the essentials such as powerpoint, switches, controls and clock are all within reach.
