A Clockwork Orange – Banned For 30 Years Debut With All Male Cast In Singapore

A Clockwork Orange – banned for over 30 years will be making its debut for the first time in Singapore with an all-male cast! Proudly presented by ABA Productions, Diva Productions and Glynis Henderson Productions, this testosterone-filled physical theatre ‘horror show’ exquisitely captures and transcends the spirit of Anthony Burgess’s original literary masterpiece, more than 50 years on from its publication.

Why is it banned for 30 years? Well, the performance will teleport you into the psychopath protagonist Alex DeLarge and his droogs in Manchester’s underworld of violence and sex. You will get to see them get high at Korova Milkbar and embark on ‘a little of the old ultraviolence’ with the droogs before being reprimanded through a morally repugnant treatment by the state prison.

Through the eyes of Alex, a psychopathic teenage delinquent, explore the violent nature of humans, the free will that humans have to choose between good and evil and ask yourself, if the desolation of free will is a solution to evil?

Rated M18, the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA), has given this ultra- masculine and adrenaline-pumping performance its stamp of approval. Having enjoyed a sell-out run during The Edinburgh Festival and a subsequent sell-out season in London’s West End, this is one theatrical masterpiece not to be missed!
