Spectrum Of The Seas Review – The Journey To Home
Before Spectrum arrives at her new home this summer, she needs to sail a 46-night Global Odyssey from Barcelona, Spain, taking guests to an exciting array of ports, including Aqaba in Jordan, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Muscat in Oman, Cochin in India, Georgetown in Malaysia, and of course Singapore, its last port of call before Shanghai, China. There, it will stay until the winter, when it will reposition to Hong Kong to offer special holiday cruises. Spectrum Of The Seas Review – What Makes Us Go Wow
1. The Biggest & Most Expensive Ship Ever Built In Asia
Accommodating up to 4,246 guests at double occupancy and 1,551 international crew members, Spectrum will be the largest and most expensive ship built to be based in Asia when she arrives at her new home in Shanghai on June 3, 2019.
This amazing ship houses private, exclusive enclaves for suite guests, new stateroom categories, and innovative dining concepts, along with stunning features, experiences and technology – many of which have never been seen before at sea.
2. Royal Caribbean’s First Exclusive Suite Only Area
For the first time ever, you can get to experience the exquisite Golden and Silver suite accommodations in a private enclave at the forward end of the ship on decks 13 through 16. If you are booked in these luxury suites, you will have special keycard access, a private elevator and a dedicated restaurant and lounge.
In addition to a range of exclusive amenities, you will also have access to The Balcony – a private outdoor space for sunbathing and relaxing – that offers the best views on board; and The Boutique, a shopping area where you can book private shopping experiences.
3. Ultimate Family Suite
The two-level, 2,809-square-foot Ultimate Family Suite makes for the ultimate family vacation. Accommodating up to 11 guests, the three-bedroom suite includes a master bedroom and two additional bedrooms for grandparents and other family members.
Kids even have their own kid-friendly space on the upper level, complete with an in-suite slide that gives them a fun way to get down to the living area below.
Everyone in the family can enjoy time together in the recreation room, featuring surround-sound equipment for a night of karaoke, movies and video games.
4. Innovative Dining Experience
Spectrum of the Seas also has the full spectrum of food and drink offerings that you’ve come to expect from Royal Caribbean. The iconic Windjammer Café offers a massive spread of international cuisine to cater to all tastebuds, from freshly cooked pastas to the spiciest of Asian curries, from the choicest cuts of meat to the best of vegetarian options.
If you’re looking for a more classy dining experience, head down to the Dining Room on Deck 3, or make a MyTime Dining Reservation on Deck 4, for the full-service experience of a three-course menu featuring a range of options from soups to salads, meats and pastas, and pies and cakes. 
If you’re going for something lighter, check out Sorrento’s, just next to Windjammer, for some of the best pizza on the waves, or the Dog House for a quick and easy hot dog or two. Cafe@Two70 also offers light bites such as salads and sandwiches, and Splashaway Café, just next to the pool, has small and kid-friendly snacks to keep the young ones occupied.
In the unlikely event that you get tired of all the good food they serve in their main dining rooms, Spectrum also has a full range of additional innovative dining concepts you can try. These include Sichuan Red, with authentic cuisine from Sichuan province in China, and Wonderland’s Dadong – a new outpost of Chinese chef Dong Zhenxiang, renowned for his much-coveted roast duck;
We made a lunch reservation at Jamie Oliver’s. The food and service were impeccable. We strongly recommend trying at least one of their speciality restaurants when you are onboard.
The Leaf and Bean traditional tea room and café parlour also offer a range of authentic Chinese teas, classic coffee drinks as well as freshly baked Chinese and Western desserts and pastries. While these restaurants aren’t included in the complimentary dining package, they’re well worth checking out.
You can end your night with a cocktail mixed by robots at the Bionic Bar or chill out at Schooner Bar with live singing and music. 
5. Sing to your Heart’s Content with KTV On Ship
Debuting on Spectrum, you now have the opportunity to shine on stage and show off your singing prowess with a new lively and energetic karaoke venue, Star Moment, where you and your family and friends can belt out your favourite classics and sing like stars.
6. Enhance SeaPlex
The SeaPlex, the largest indoor sports and entertainment complex at sea, is not a new feature, having already been a mainstay of other Quantum-class ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet for some time. But Spectrum of the Seas boasts an enhanced version of the SeaPlex, where you and your loved ones can enjoy bumper cars, 
roller skating, basketball, laser tag, and new augmented reality walls and floors, providing everyone with thrilling, high-tech interactive experiences.
There was a queue for the laser tag but the experience was absolutely worth it. Game-face on!
7. Brand New Attractions and Some Classic Favourites
The iconic Sky Pad, located on the top deck at the aft of the ship, is also another new addition to Spectrum’s ensemble. Best described as a virtual reality-augmented bungee trampoline experience, it gives you the opportunity to experience the thrill of soaring through the air in one of several virtual worlds that you can choose. 
And if virtual reality isn’t your cup of tea, you can just choose to strap in and bounce away on the trampoline while enjoying an amazing view of the deck and the surrounding sea.
Apart from the Sky Pad, you can also experience some classic favourites found on other Quantum-class ships:
The North Star is an extendable observation pod that takes you more than 300 feet above the ocean for incomparable panoramic views;
If you’re in for something a little more exciting, there’s also RipCord by iFly, a heart-pounding skydiving simulator experience that gives you a very realistic idea of what it feels like to be soaring at 30,000 feet. And if catching some waves is more your thing, there’s also the FlowRider surfing simulator for you to try.
If all the above are not for you, there are always the blissful soaks at their numerous pools. 
8. Cutting Edge, Transformative Venues
Two70, a bar/café/performance space, is renowned for its expansive floor-to-ceiling windows offering breathtaking 270-degree views of the ocean. Two70 also features signature Vistarama technology, which transforms the panoramic windows into a projection surface more than 100 feet wide and over 20 feet tall to showcase spectacular digital shows.
Six agile Roboscreens, measuring over 7 feet tall and controlled by powerful, yet nimble robotic arms, create scenes as they soar and twist solo or as one. Two70 will also feature new room-scale augmented reality experiences that transport vacationers to new worlds of adventure.
