Despite being launched more than two decades ago, Runescape is still a very popular game. Planning Your Character Build

Just like many other multiple player game, RuneScape is big on character growth. As you advance in your levels, you get to discover new abilities, gears and even quests. If you are not planning to spend any money, you will be granted access to only 17 of the 27 abilities within the game. This excludes you from many of the paid members only skills and even for skills that you have access to, you are limited to just level 5 while paid players can go much further.

To ensure high survivability and ease of mission clearance, all new players should build a well-balanced range of talents instead of focusing on just a few niche ones. How well your character eventually turns out is dependent on your patience and determination.

General Skills

Hitpoints Skill

These skills up your health in the game hence they are important for survivability. Enhance them early in the game.

Defence Skill

With this up, you can now wear higher quality armour and decrease the chance of critical hits. Paired with hitpoint skills, you will enhance your survivability.

Firemaking Skill

Used mainly for just cooking food and completing certain missions. We recommend not spending too much time on this skill.

Skills For Money

Woodcutting Skill

It sounds like a no-brainer but this skill is critical if you are hard on cash. By advancing your skill level, you can cut down trees faster and engage better quality trees too. Of course, all these will translate to more money in the pouch.

Mining Skill

If money is what you are after, look no further. You have your cash cow here. With each advancement in your level, you can obtain exotic ores and gemstones which can be sold handsomely for cash or utilised for crafting and smithing.

Fishing Skill

Fishing does more than just getting better catches. Beyond food, you can make money selling your fish. The higher your skill level, the better your chance of getting one and the more cash in the pocket.

Skills For Crafts

Cooking Skill

With this skill, you can now transform any raw food materials you have into delicious meals. These meals can then be used to restore your health.

Crafting Skill

Enhance your crafting to create higher quality pieces of pottery, jewellery, and armour that can be equipped or sold off for money.

Prayer Skill

Faith can play a big part in your game! Learn new prayers as you level up to gain entry to different growth paths.

Runecrafting Skill

This is essential to provide you with better quality runes for spell casting.

Smithing Skill

With this, you can say goodbye to poor items and if you are fully equipped with the best weapons and armour you can even sell the extra for money!

Magic Skill

Enhancing your skills in this area will allow you to use a variety of magical skills or enchant your weapons and armours. You can use the skill to master teleportation and even strengthen your magical defence.

Skills For Aggression 

Strength Skill

Upgrade your melee damage by boosting your strength. You will be surprised how much easier it is to kill.

Attack Skill

Folks who need to enhance the deadliness of their melee attacks will need to strengthen their attack skills. With the advancement of level, you can then carry higher level weapons and enjoy a smooth mission.

Ranged Skill

Advance your skills to snipe enemies from afar using a variety of ranged weapons.
