Travel Utility Kit: A Guide To Mindful Packing For A Trip

Remember that trip when you packed a chase board but hardly had a use for it on the road? But when you needed some extra detergent, you had already run out of it.

Well, we all make packing mistakes when travelling. Some pack too much, while some don’t pack the essentials.

But travel essentials don’t have to always be heavy. They can be handy and helpful. You can pack a small tote bag or a travel kit with different essentials that will let you focus on your travel instead of being troubled by unnecessary hurdles.

If you want to save both your time and money, read this blog article.

Laundry Supplies

If you’re going somewhere else for a few days, then you’ll need laundry supplies. For starters, try putting the Tide stain stick, clothes pegs, and laundry soap in your bag.

These are important things you need in your bag to always stay adventure ready. If you have pre-packaged detergent powders, they also work as a short laundry assist.

A String or a Handy Rope

You’re lucky if your hotel has a retractable cloth line where you can hang the laundry after cleaning. But what if there isn’t one? Most people pick the lampshades as a place to hang their socks. But you can think ahead and bring clothes lines of your own.

You can have strings and use them in different ways. It also helps to have strong tape or a thin, strong rope with you so that you can use it to dry the laundry.

Electrolyte Powder

Well, electrolytes are often lifesavers. When outside for a long time, you have a high chance of getting dehydrated. But, when in the utmost need of a pair of hydrating electrolytes, you may not always find a pharmacy around. That’s why it’s best to carry along a few pouches.

Especially if you don’t know the language of the place, you can’t explain to them the concept of diarrhea in your language. That’s why having your own electrolytes is the best. Plus, if you throw in a couple of mediums, you already have a relief mechanism ready if you’re prone to diarrhea.

A Tenser Bandage

When you’re going on trips with lots of walking and hiking involved, you’re going to need a tenser bandage. These are handy when you sprain your legs due to excessive walking. In addition, you can use them in many other ways as well. You can press them and make a regular bandage out of them.

Mending Kit

If you’re on a hiking trip or going near a sea beach for a vacation, keep a mending kit. Travels can always get rough, and when they do, you have a chance to damage the bags,  clothes, and personal items. It’s often difficult to access a tailor or a seamstress everywhere — especially if you’re travelling to remote areas.

But, if you have a mending kit, you can avoid the risk of completely damaging your belongings. Also, the tiny fixes you do with them keep you from spending on replacements.

Whether it’s an unexpected tear, a broken zip, or a loose button, your mending kit can come in handy. You can have a simple pouch or invest in a tote bag. During my last trip, I bought Analog’s tote bag in Singapore. These are cute small bags to carry your essentials around.

Adapter or Converters

Different countries have their own pin type or charging port – making it difficult for you to get a proper charging connection for your electronic devices (laptop, tablet, phone).

That’s why an adapter or a converter is a good tool to invest in. It’s better to go for a multi-tool that works both like an adapter and a converter. Plus, many of these tools support pins for all countries.

An adapter is for connecting to a two-prong appliance in a different country. It helps connect plugs of different shapes. But a converter serves a different purpose. It’s for converting the voltage coming out of the outlet into what your device is capable of taking. As a result, you can use your appliances without frying them due to the wrong electricity voltage.
