As the first peonies awaken and spring begins to stir, Sofitel Singapore City Centre ushers in Chinese New Year 2026 with a celebration shaped by grace, abundance and cultural refinement. Inspired by the elegance of the Song dynasty, the hotel’s Lunar New Year programme unfolds as a curated journey of dining experiences, from celebratory reunion feasts to contemplative afternoon tea rituals and thoughtfully prepared festive takeaways. Reunion Feasts at Racines

At Racines, Chinese New Year arrives in the form of generous reunion buffet dinners that blend cherished Lunar traditions with modern culinary finesse. The celebration begins with a lavish seafood-on-ice spread featuring fresh oysters, lobsters and prawns, followed by a rich array of starters including smoked duck breast salad, artisanal cheeses and charcuterie. Beloved Chinese classics anchor the feast, from braised abalone in seafood broth and marmite prawns to longevity Ee Fu noodles and the signature Typhoon Shelter Pipa Duck.

On Chinese New Year’s Eve, 16 February 2026, the evening concludes with a vibrant lion dance performance that ushers in wishes of good fortune and joy. Reunion buffet dinners continue on 17 February 2026, offering another opportunity to gather and celebrate abundance together.

Lunar New Year Brunch with Global Flair

The Ultimate Racines Buffet Brunch returns with a Lunar New Year edition on 21 and 28 February 2026. Designed as a leisurely midday celebration, the brunch brings together Asian festive favourites and Western comfort dishes in a single expansive spread. Alongside Chinese staples such as drunken chicken with aged Chinese wine, Assam curry seabass and braised Ee Fu noodles, you will find Provençal-style seafood stew, slow-roasted Angus beef striploin and oven-baked ratatouille pot pie with Comté crust.

The experience ends on a sweet note with French pastries and Lunar New Year desserts including matcha raspberry financier, gâteau opera and glutinous rice dumplings served in brown sugar broth.

Refined Set Menus for Intimate Gatherings

For more intimate celebrations or business lunches, Racines presents a three-course Lunar New Year set menu available from 2 February to 3 March 2026. Carefully curated for balance and nourishment, the menu features dishes such as revitalising ginseng chicken soup, hearty golden seafood broth, lotus leaf wrapped rice with braised pork belly and pineapple pandan blanc-manger for a gentle festive finish. A prosperity yu sheng add-on allows you to begin the meal with an auspicious toss.

The Four Gentlemen Botanical Afternoon Tea

For a quieter expression of the season, the Four Gentlemen Botanical Afternoon Tea at 1864 offers a contemplative pause inspired by the four revered plants in Chinese ink-wash art: plum, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum. Each botanical is translated into a handcrafted sweet or savoury creation that reflects its symbolic virtue and the poetic grace of the Song dynasty.

The experience opens with plum expressed through a plum-infused five-spice salmon monaka, followed by orchid reimagined as a TWG Orchid Tea-infused cheesecake. Bamboo appears as a savoury braised pork tartlet, while chrysanthemum takes form as a pineapple tart infused with floral notes and rum. Each set is served within the serene interiors of 1864 and comes with a limited-edition Four Gentlemen folding fan illustrated with calligraphic botanical motifs, offered as a keepsake while stocks last.

Festive Celebrations at Home

To extend the celebration beyond the dining room, Sofitel Singapore City Centre offers a collection of auspicious Lunar New Year takeaways crafted for sharing.
