Kickstart A New Year With Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2026

Singapore’s most iconic New Year celebration is back with a bigger and brighter edition. The Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2026, presented by the Urban Redevelopment Authority and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board, will close the nation’s SG60 milestone year with a full month of festivities across December. Designed as a meaningful and uplifting celebration, the countdown brings together light projections, community-inspired artworks, performances, food experiences and a spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks display that will illuminate the skyline as Singapore welcomes 2026.

Brightening Lives Returns with Uplifting Stories in Light

One of the most anticipated features of the annual countdown, Brightening Lives, returns with a new theme titled Thriving Beyond Limits. This year’s edition celebrates the many forms of strength found within the community and highlights the importance of expression, adaptability and support. From 26 to 31 December, the historic facade of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore will transform into a glowing canvas for eight artworks created by artists with disabilities from ART:DIS. These include three newly commissioned works and five adapted artworks that reflect themes of unity, resilience, creativity and shared aspiration. The projection show will run nightly from 8pm to 10.30pm.

You can look forward to the commissioned pieces that each tell a unique story. Kenji Teo’s ‘My Island Home’ paints a nostalgic memory of the Singapore River and its early days of trade, reminding viewers of the teamwork and perseverance that built the nation’s foundation. Joy Koh’s ‘Threads That Knit’ celebrates everyday life through colourful motifs of shared spaces, neighbourhood scenes and familiar encounters. Koh Jun Kai’s ‘Future Takes Flight’ envisions a vibrant city where nature, people and technology coexist, blending familiar landscapes with playful, abstract interpretations. These three works were originally part of SG60’s National Day Parade celebrations and now take on renewed life in motion across The Fullerton Hotel’s frontage.

UOB Plaza 1 Lights Up with Art from Across ASEAN

Adding to the festive light experience, UOB Plaza 1 will host a showcase titled Sharing Joy, Celebrating with our Communities. From 18 to 31 December, the building will light up with artworks by ASEAN artists presented in two segments. The Festive show from 18 to 25 December highlights the spirit of giving and gratitude, while the Countdown show from 26 to 31 December encourages audiences to look ahead and imagine the possibilities of a thriving future. The projections begin at 8pm each night, adding a vibrant artistic layer to the Marina Bay skyline.

Togetherland by World Christmas Market Returns Bigger Than Before

Folks craving food, fun and festive spirit can head to Togetherland by World Christmas Market at its expansive new home, the Bayfront Event Space. Running from 11 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, the event spans 20,000 square metres, double the size of its previous venue at The Promontory. Designed around the theme of A Christmas Constellation, the festival blends creativity, sustainability and community powered experiences. Expect immersive attractions, artisanal stalls, street style food, interactive installations and lively family friendly activities throughout the month.

Experience Local Music at Esplanade’s Come Together Series

Throughout December, Esplanade will once again shine a spotlight on homegrown talent. The Come Together series brings a line up of free performances to the Esplanade Concourse and the DBS Foundation Outdoor Theatre. Audiences can discover artists such as Hey Pelican, Amni Musfirah and Heema Izzati, who will present an array of genres and styles that showcase Singapore’s growing musical diversity.

A Cinematic Fireworks Musical to Welcome 2026

The celebrations culminate on New Year’s Eve with a spectacular fireworks display titled ELYSIUM. Designed as a 360 degree experience around Marina Bay, the hour long presentation is set to a specially curated musical score. The fireworks unfold across four segments and will feature a total display duration of 30 minutes. The show begins at 11pm and transforms the city skyline into a living canvas of colour and rhythm as Singapore ushers in the new year.
