Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and is located just off the coast of Italy. With a rich history and well-preserved monuments, history lovers and those with an eye for all things ancient will love this island. With white beaches and stunning views, the city has many things to offer whilst visiting. Here are just five great reasons to plan your next holiday to visit Sicily.

1. Food

Sicily has a great selection of traditional homemade foods for all food fanatics. There are so many ice-cream parlours with amazing flavours and unique tastes to keep the children and adults happy all day. If you visit any of the coastal villages in Sicily, you can taste the exquisite seafood they bring in fresh each day. Sicilians also have a great love for pasta too.

2. Beaches

If relaxation is needed on your trip, a beach is never far away when visiting Sicily. Known for its stunning white beaches, the beach is a great place to unwind and relax. If you are visiting Sicily as a family, the beaches are ideal for parents to sit down and enjoy the sun whilst the little ones build sandcastles and take a splash in the sea.  To make the most of a family stay, avoid the hotels.  If you want a place where your kids will be relaxed, and enjoy unbelievable views and some privacy, there are plenty of luxury villas in Sicily to choose from.  The Western area of the island is especially nice.
