On our second trip back to Macau, we have a much better sense of where best to stay to take in our favourite parts of this charming historical city. That is one of the reasons why we chose to stay at Sofitel Macau At Ponte 16 this trip. The hotel is well positioned on Macau’s picturesque waterfront, in the centre of the charming historic quarter, with a walking distance to the UNESCO world heritage sites. Sofitel Macau – Arrival & Check-In

If you are coming over from Hong Kong or direct from Hong Kong International Airport like us, make sure you are going to Macau Maritime Ferry Terminal as it is a lot closer to the hotel than Macau Taipa Ferry Terminal. Upon arrival, load up your luggage onto Sofitel Macau At Ponte 16 shuttle bus and you will be checking in at Sofitel Macau’s grand lobby at around 30 minutes.

Once the check-in is completed, we hop on to one of these lovely lift to our rooms! It began to dawn on us that grandeur presentation is the norm for Sofitel Macau.

There are a total 408 rooms in Sofitel Macau and they include 10 Prestige Suites and 19 units of the Mansion at Sofitel. The magnificent Mansion at Sofitel offers the ultimate in style, elegance and personal comfort. We will let you have a glimpse of our room which unfortunately is just one of the normal rooms within the hotel.

The room is spacious, cosy and the fun part is you get to decide if you want the blinds to be up or down for privacy in the bathroom. All with just a flick of a switch! The view from the room is to die for. There is no need to explore another vantage point to take in the bird’s eye view of the city. We just did that from our room window. The Junior & Prestige Suites adds a living area and of course, an even more luxurious bedroom.

These 19 units of the Mansion at Sofitel is not known to many. In fact, they even have their own private set of lifts. The lift opens up to one of the hotel’s proudest attraction – The Lotus Pond.

With different design themes, the 19 units of mansion provide the finest in-room technology for convenience and peace of mind when travelling. The Bridal White theme is one of our favourites, it makes you feel like a French Queen.

Sofitel Macau – The Pool & So Fit Gym

For folks who love to soak up the sun, Sofitel Macau has two outdoor swimming pools. Set amidst gently waving palm trees and lush landscaping, the free-form main pool at 6^th floor form an attractive venue for leisure hours. The view from the pool is absolutely gorgeous. You can see the cityscape of Zhuhai from a distance. For fitness fanatics, So Fit Gym is right next to the pool for you to pop by after your swim.
