Quick & Easy Ways To Making More Green Spaces In Singapore

In this era where technology is taking over our lives, we are facing a serious problem of lack of greenery. We keep our head buried in our phones and laptops all day, and we can’t argue with the fact that technology has made our life easier and comfortable, but it has also taken our green lands from us. In our non-stop hustling lives, at the end of the day, all we want is a quiet place which provides us inner peace. Surrounded by greenery is all the remedy you need and can prove to be a real stress buster.  Here are some quick and easy ways to make more green spaces in Singapore

A city that never sleeps like Singapore is filled with energised people who thrive in their work and personal lives, but at the end of the day, all they want is some peace. Due to the rapid development greenery is vanishing in Singapore and serious action has to be taken. Given below are some easy ways by which more green spaces can be created.

1. Planning Garden Cities

This concept is not new and was a vision of the Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew in 1968. The idea was to have a developed city with no compromise with nature and green spaces. That is why parks and open lands were a necessity in Singapore, and new buildings and offices were constructed around it, but due to the growing population, these lands were used for commercial and residential purposes.

This idea can be utilized today too; all we need to do is find an efficient system where there is enough space for people and greenery too. This can be done by constructing parks and utilizing land which lies unused.

2. Connecting Nature and People

It is not necessary that parks and other greenery have to be planted separately. Building and greenery can go hand in hand but have such societies where there are small parks at different places. You don’t need huge space; multiple small spaces can do the trick.

3. Find Unused Land

There are many spots in the city which lies unused. The best thing to do would be to inspect the nature of this land, if it is barren and cannot support growing flora, then you can utilise it for a commercial and residential purpose instead cutting down the greenery.

You can use this land to grow vegetables and reap the benefits of the quantity of potatoes grown per plant and various other vegetables.

4. Spread Awareness

The people who are driven with development fail to understand that development means building and innovating the present structure and not reducing the source. We get everything from plants and reducing them in number isn’t a wise thing to do. Each person should know the importance of this. This can be done by conducting campaigns, speeches or a website but it should be done to reach the mass audience.

5. Make Getaway Farms

In our hectic lives, we need to have a break once in a while and just relax. This can be done by constructing weekend farm getaway from Singapore in the outskirts of the city. This way you can enjoy the peace and greenery which will relax you and rejuvenate you for the next day.

Developed cities like Singapore attract a lot of foreigners who come there to find work. While this is a good opportunity for growth for both the foreigner and Singapore, the rising population demands more space. The above steps can provide a remedy to this problem to some extent. Like it’s said, you should stop once in a while and smell the roses.
