Epilogue Cafe – A New Haven For Dessert Lovers

Having experienced the serenity at Epilogue Cafe @ Orchard Central where one can enjoy a good read over light meals and beverages, I was rather surprised with my recent visit to Epilogue Cafe @ Ion Orchard.

Tucked deep within Prologue, keep to a lookout for this man in apron to locate the cafe.

Unlike Epilogue Cafe @ Orchard Central,  this branch at Ion Orchard attracts a totally different crowd. Instead of a cozy urban retreat for bookworms along Singapore busiest retail street, Epilogue Cafe @ Ion Orchard was buzzing with families with young children,

youths and tertiary students. It has evolved to become THE PLACE to See and be Seen. Hurray to a new people watching spot in Singapore!

People may not necessarily be here for the books but it’s always great to know that the bookalicious promotion

Enough of the scene, I need to focus back on my mission to enjoy an afternoon of dessert tasting from Epilogue Cafe’s decadent new dessert and cakes menu. I started my dessert feast with their delightful Parisian Macarons ($2.50 each). These sweet, meringue-based traditional French confectionery comes in an assortment of natural tea flavours that includes Rose, Chamomile, Matcha, Chai, and Morgan Blend & there are significantly larger than the usual ones you get at cafes too!

Next, we dug our dessert spoons into Poire William Crème Brulee ($10.50).

This popular French classic custard dessert remade with a delectable Poire William drenched twist. Waist watchers beware, you may want to share this yummy sweetie with a friend or two.

Matcha Azuki ($7.50) is extremely easy on the eye. Smooth, fluffy layers of light green tea sponge filled with green tea cream and red beans makes it reminiscent of Tokyo in springtime. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of fluffy sponge cakes.

As much as we would love to continue tasting all the wonderful desserts, we really have no room to take more. We ended off with Blueberry Burst Cheesecake ($7.50), a heavenly medley of fresh, juicy blueberries, packed in rich and creamy cheesecake.

But we will definitely be heading down Epilogue Cafe to chill and sample more of their dainty desserts such as Devilish Brownie with Ice Cream ($6.50), Opera Ganache ($7.50) and particularly Classic Yolkless Cheesecake ($7.50) – A Light, yolkless cheesecake that is rich in flavour and low in cholesterol – a healthier dessert alternative.

For those who like to have a little of everything, you will be thrilled with the Petite Cake Treats – Set of 6pcs ($15.50) which includes Mini Macarons, Mini Yolkless Cheesecake, Mini Opera Ganache, Mini Matcha Azuki, Mini Dark Angel, and Mini Between-the-Sheets.
