Damien Rudd, an artist from Down Under started a rather depressing Instagram account called ‘Sad Topographies‘ that shares places around the world that has very sad names. He chanced upon a place in Australia called Mount Hopeless and that got him started on a project to find many more places with oddly depressed names. He finds many of these places by typing words associated with sadness into Google Maps. So far, spots with names like Shades of Death Road, Cape Disappointment, and Depression Pond have been discovered. Here’s our pick of the 25 Most Depressing Spots around the world.
