Give A Fú Dài This Festive Season At SG Care & Share 2015

The festive season can be a lonely time for an elderly living alone or for a family facing difficulty. A volunteer bearing a Fú Dài (A bag of Lunar New Year festive gifts which brings wishes of joy and health) signifies more than gifts – his or her gesture shows that someone cares. Community Chest invites you to Give A Fú Dài At SG Care & Share 2015 to show care and concern to the less fortunate this festive season.

How Does It Work?

For each outright donation of $50 or more, Community Chest will arrange for a Fú Dài containing sponsored festive items and necessities to be delivered to a person in need. 100% of the proceeds of this project will also go towards critical social service programmes that help the less fortunate.

Care and Share Movement is a national fund- raising and volunteerism movement led by Community Chest for the social service sector, as Singapore approaches its 50th year of independence in 2015.

How Can You Help

You can do your part for the needy this festive season by:

a) Make an outright donation of $50 via ComChest.sg, Deal.com.sg or Qoo10.

b) Rally as a group with your friends and relatives to make an outright donation of $5,000 or more, and volunteer to pack and deliver 100 Fú Dài.

c) Sponsor useful items for the beneficiaries including non-perishable food, household products and vouchers to be included in the 2,000 Fú Dài.

Packing and delivery date is scheduled for Saturday, 24 January 2015, 10am – 5pm. To join fellow volunteers to pack and deliver the Fú Dài, please email your name and contact number to [email protected]. Registration is limited to a first come, first served basis until all required volunteer slots are filled.

Closing date for donations is 25 January 2014.

To allow Community Chest to better coordinate this initiative, please confirm your donations and volunteerism interest to the contact listed below:

*Due to limitation in the sponsorship of festive items and necessities, Community Chest may limit each organisation or group donating $5,000 and above to the distribution of only 100 Fú Dài each to the beneficiaries. Organisations or groups that wish to do more for the beneficiaries through sponsored luncheons and distribution of red packets directly to the beneficiaries can inform Community Chest separately. Any voluntary help to Community Chest for transport or logistics of the distribution will be appreciated.
