The Yellow Ribbon Prison Run 2015 is coming up on Sunday, 13 September 2015. Take part and show your support for ex-offenders as they fight against stigmatisation. You will get to run through historical sites in such as the Johore Battery, Changi Chapel Museum and the Old Changi Prison Wall. The run goes beyond just showing your support in action. Proceeds raised from the run will go to Yellow Ribbon Fund, which supports rehabilitation and reintegration programmes of ex-offenders, their families and their children.
Here are the details of the run for your consideration:
This year, the 6km fun run for kids will be transformed into a magical – Happily Ever After Running Trail or “HEART Trail”. Your young ones will get to catch magical fairy tale characters, such as the ugly duckling and the frog prince, at various milestones of the route. Through this family-friendly interactive trail, families and children can learn more about acceptance and second chances.
The run will end with a carnival held within the Changi Prison Complex which is open to public. All participants will get to enjoy performances by inmates in collaboration with The Philharmonic Winds, roaming magicians, photo and game booths, and much more! Have a first-hand experience of the rehabilitation process by going through the mock up cells and workshops at the Rehabilitation Exhibition.
