The famous Spice Brasserie Restaurant located in PARKROYAL @ Kitchener Road once again kicks off the lunar new year with a very special tailored menu package, exclusive buffet and Yu Sheng creation from Si Chuan Dou Hua.
Executive Chef Low Hoe Kiat has concocted the highly raved Five Fortunes Set (五福临门) to kickstart the year of the Monkey with good fortunes and blessings.
Before we tackled the 5 Fortunes Set, this Crab in Pumpkin-gravy is simply too irresistible to give it a miss. The magic is in the gravy which seeps throughout the tender crab meat and once you start tasting the pumpkin gravy, you cannot stop!
Of course, no Chinese New Year gathering is complete without the traditional Lo hei of your Yu Sheng dish. Toss in Abundance with the Crispy Baby Crab Yu Sheng, a delightful crunchy twist on a bed of fresh salmon, baby crabmeat (for those who do not want the salmon option due to health concerns) and topped off with a generous drizzle of Passion Fruit and Plum Sauce (super yummy!)
Roasted Pork and Duck meat is available throughout the Spice Brasserie Buffet and because a picture speaks a thousand words – you can see clearly how the meat glistens under the lighting and the juices are basically tempting you to grab the entire plate for your buffet meal. But refrain yourself! The 5 Fortunes Set is coming up next!
The golden brown texture of this claypot rice is amazing. Makes you wonder about the effort the chef puts in to cook the rice and its ingredients at the right temperature. This is the Abalone Glutinous rice with liver sausage, which gives you a traditional feel of mother’s home-cooked meal. Needless to say, the abalone boasts a superior quality to what you’d get in those instant abalone “ready-made” cans from supermarkets.
We really enjoyed the Lobster in superior stock. The meat was succulent and tender, and is accompanied by premium vegetables chosen by Chef Low.
Prosperity Pot (盆菜), featuring juicy abalone, mushrooms, sea cucumbers and scallops. Needless to say, all ingredients were very fresh and cooked to the perfect point.
We couldn’t be more excited to end the day with Pumpkin Puree & Almond Flakes, because this completely satisfied our sweet tooth with the unique taste of pumpkin paste and the almond was superbly good!
