1. Say Goodbye To The 3.5mm Headphone Jack

Apple may be eliminating the headphone jack and adopting an all-in-one Lightning port that will support both charging and music playback with Lightning-equipped headphones. This is rumoured to be a move to decrease the thickness of the iPhone 7 or make room for additional parts such as a larger battery. iPhone 7 will also support wireless Bluetooth headphones.

Apple is rumoured to be also introducing new noise-canceling technology to remove background noise during music playback and phone calls but speculators disagreed on whether this will be introduced in the iPhone 7 or the next-generation iPhone.

2. You Can Now Put Pressure On Your New Flush, Sensitive Home Button

Some rumours suggested that Apple will remove a physical home button in the iPhone 7. In place of that, they will introduce a pressure sensitive home button that sits flush with the phone.

Apple’s Force Touch technology is supposed to be built into the home button to provide haptic feedback when pressed which is something like the Force Touch trackpad on Apple’s most recent MacBooks. This means that you will still be able to feel the sensation of pressing the home button even without an actual button to press.

3. Of Course, Stronger Processor

Although the internal specs for the iPhone 7 are not announced, speculators are confident that Apple will continue on its path of introducing more powerful, efficient devices with each new phone launch (duh). The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are expected to include next-generation A10 processors which are a good deal faster than the A9 in the iPhone 6s. And rumours say that there will now be more reason for you to get a bigger screen – iPhone 7 may ship with 2GB RAM, while the iPhone 7 Plus could include 3GB RAM.

4.  Hoarders Will Be Pleased

Folks who hoard photos, music and video files on their iPhones will be pleased to hear rumours that internal storage space is getting a boost. For this launch, entry-level devices are expected to start at 32GB instead of 16GB, and leaks suggested that Apple iPhone 7 will be sold in 32, 128, and 256GB capacities.

5. Move Over Samsung, You Are Not The Only One With Awesome Displays

Although Apple is rumoured to be working on AMOLED displays, the technology may not be ready for the iPhone 7. Based on display improvements introduced in the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, iPhone 7 display may be of similar features, as Apple often expands display advancements across its entire product lineup.

Speculators shared that improvements could potentially include the DCI-P3 Wide Color gamut, introducing more vivid, true-to-life colours, and an improved anti-reflection coating to lower screen reflectance for better performance in high ambient light. True Tone, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro feature that adjusts the colour temperature of the display to match ambient lighting, could also potentially be included if Apple “upgrades the ambient light sensors so they measure colour in addition to brightness.”

6. Minimal Facade Enhancement

Most of the rumours state that iPhone 7 will continue to sport a design similar to the design of the iPhone 6s but may have a camera that protrudes less. While the antenna bands across the back of the device gets removed, they are expected to remain at the top, bottom, and sides of the new iPhone.

7. Flaunt Your New Darker ‘Space Black’

Fashionistas will be delighted to know that besides the same four colours of the iPhone 6s — Silver, Space Gray, Gold and Rose Gold, you may be flaunting a darker “Space Black” shade described as a glossy “piano black” colour.

8. Dual-lens camera for iPhone 7 Plus

Again, there are rumours that Apple is trying to aggressively upsell its iPhone 7 Plus by offering not one but two cameras with 2-3x optical zoom and improved performance in low-light conditions for brighter, more detailed photos. The poorer cousin iPhone 7 will likely continue to use a standard single-lens camera but may gain optical image stabilization. Other picture perfect improvements may come in the form of an upgraded flash with four LEDs and the ability to capture 4K video at 60 frames per second.

9. Improved water resistance

We are not exactly sure if you will be excited by this unless you are often in close proximity to pools of water. Anyway, with the rumoured improved IPX7 water resistance, you new iPhone will be able to stand up to splashing and even short periods of immersion in water.

10. Wireless & Faster Charging

If it is true that Lightning port will be used for music playback, there will be no way for you to charge the iPhone 7 while headphones are plugged in. That sparked some speculation about wireless charging. According to one rumour, Apple is exploring wireless charging technology that could potentially be included in the iPhone 7.
